Library Study Zones

Open Study Zone : First Floor

Noise level: chatter icon Chatter - group work is encouraged but loud conversations are discouraged. Cell phones are only allowed in stairwells, landings, and lobby areas. 

What's Available: A mixture of study tables, study carrels, soft chairs, couches, and power outlets. Computers are available in the Information Commons.

Open Study Zone : Second Floor General Areas

Noise level:                   chatter icon          Chatter - group work is encouraged but loud conversations are discouraged. Cell phones are only allowed in stairwells, landings, and lobby areas. 

What's available: A mixture of study tables, cafe height tables, adjustable height tables, soft chairs, couches, and power outlets.

Group Study Zone : Second and Third Floor Group Study Rooms

Noise level:            medium chatter icon                 Medium Chatter - group work and use of media is encouraged but should be kept at a low enough volume that it cannot be heard outside the room or in the next room. Cell phones are allowed.

What's available: Visit the Study Room Reservations page for a list of technology available in each study room and to reserve a study room.

Quiet Study Zone : Third Floor General Areas

Noise level: low hum icon Low Hum - voices should be kept at a low whisper and any other noise kept at very low levels. Cell phones are not allowed. Groups in transit to and from study rooms should respect that this is a quiet floor.

What's available: a mixture of computers, study tables, study carrels, soft chairs, adjustable height tables, and power outlets.

Silent Study Zone : Third Floor Reading Room

Noise level: silent icon Silent - the Reading Room should be completely silent. Use of audible devices, talking, eating, and cell phones are not allowed in this room.

What's available: study tables, soft chairs, and power outlets.

Night owls: Try Odegaard Undergraduate Library in Seattle!

The Odegaard Undergraduate Library on the UW Seattle campus is open extended hours for the weekend before finals week for UW Bothell and Cascadia College students*.
