Browse by artist
- sometimes an artist will specialize in certain themes
If you're finding
a lot of images on your theme you might narrow your search to a specific
sub-theme so that your 3 images have more in common. For example, you
might look for landscapes with churches, or landscapes with harbor scenes.
This might allow you to focus your comparative analysis more closely.
You might look
for images that display contrasting perspectives on your theme.
Select more images
initially than you'll need - this way you can consider eliminating those
that are more difficult to find secondary sources on.
Image quality on
the Web is very inconsistent. Images produced by museums and art historical/educational
institutions tend to be of higher quality. Using poor quality images
can negatively impact your analysis of an image.
Be patient - it
may take you a few days to find a good selection of images.
