You’ll find songs by and about American Indians, miners, immigrants, slaves, children, pioneers, and cowboys. There are the songs of Civil Rights, political campaigns, Prohibition, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and anti-war protests as well as hymns, funny songs, college songs, and sea shanties.

Changes to platforms, etc.

America history and life; Historical abstracts:  these two databases from ABC-CLIO will be migrating to the Ebsco platform as of 7/1/08.  Access is available to both platforms for spring quarter.

Grove art online, Grove music online: these resources will be migrating to new platforms called Oxford Art Online and Oxford Music Online    during spring quarter.  Migration will be completed by the end of June.

    C19 indexes British and American publications from the 19th century and includes the electronic equivalent of Poole's index to periodical literature, The Wellesley index to Victorian periodicals, 1824-1900 and other sources.

    EMBASE is a biomedical and pharmacological database indexing 5,000 journals from over 70 countries. Previously the Libraries subscribed to the Embase drugs and pharmacology subset only, but as of January will have access to the full database from 1988-present, including drugs and pharmacology, clinical and experimental medicine, basic biological research, health policy and management, public, occupational and environmental health, substance abuse, psychiatry, forensic science, and biomedical engineering and instrumentation. Typically, individuals writing systematic reviews in medicine are required to search both MEDLINE and EMBASE in order to complete a comprehensive literature survey.

    750+ photographs of the political career and personal life of Henry M. Jackson. He began a Congressional career in 1941 that spanned 43 years and nine presidents.

    Jackson was a strong player in foreign and defense policies, as well as domestic energy and environmental policies, serving as a member on the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy, the Armed Services Committee, the Governmental Affairs Committee, and chairman of the Committee on Interior and Insular Affairs.
